Charles
Korte, M.D.
Before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Korte was a distinguished
student at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. After graduating from St. Louis
University School of Medicine in 1980, Dr. Korte completed his family
practice residency at the U.S. Air Force Medical Center, School Air Force
Base in Illinois. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family
Practice and has attained a certificate of added qualification in geriatrics.
Dr. Korte has been the program director since 1998.
Dr. Korte has extensive experience teaching health care providers from
many disciplines. He was chief of the family practice department at Mather
Air Force Base in California from 1985-1986. Throughout his career, Dr.
Korte has maintained an active practice in all areas of family medicine.
His interests are currently focused in geriatrics.
Dr. Korte and his wife Chris live in the Des Moines area
and has two
grown children.

Carol Kuhle, D.O.
A native of Fort Salonga, New York, Dr. Kuhle is fellowship trained in
geriatrics from the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Kuhle's family practice training
was at Broadlawns Medical Center through the University of Iowa, where
she was chief resident.Her medical degree is from the University of Osteopathic
Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines.
Dr. Kuhle is an active volunteer in the community giving many lectures
in the field of geriatrics locally as well as at state conferences in
Iowa and Minnesota. She serves as the Senior Medical Advisor for Geriatric
Affairs for the Iowa Public Health Department.
Dr. Kuhle has two grown children.

Eden
Murad, D.O.
Dr. Murad
brings a broad range of clinical experience to the faculty of the
Mercy Family Medicine Residency Program. He is a physician with Mercy
Clinics with interests in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Emergency medicine
as well as special procedures.
Dr. Murad is a Diplomat
of the American Board of Family Practitioners and
has been recognized by local and national professional organizations for
his
clinical skill as well as research.
Dr. Murad is a California
native with a degree from the University of
California- Irvine and a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University
of
Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. He completed a residency
as
a member of the University of Iowa - Family Practice Residency program
at
St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.
Dr. Murad and his
wife live in the Des Moines area with their three sons.

Yogesh
Shah, M.D.
Dr. Shah joined the Mercy
Family Medicine Residency
faculty after completing a fellowship
in geriatric medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 2000.
He serves as the Associate Program Director. He is no stranger to the
Mercy
Family Medicine Residency
program. Dr. Shah completed a residency in Family Medicine
here in 1999.
Dr. Shah
has a special interest in the care and treatment of seniors suffering
from Alzheimer's Disease. He has been involved in numerous research studies
of the disease. Dr. Shah has presented and published research on Alzheimer's
at the local, national, and international level. In 1999 he was a delegate
to, and presented at, the Dementia meeting in Yamanashi, Japan. Dr. Shah
is a board member of Mid-Iowa Alzheimer's Association and Alzheimer's
Prevention foundation. He is a member of the Iowa's Commission for Elder
Affairs and an assistant professor with the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Shah
is a native of Bombay, India and received his medical degree from Bombay
University. He completed an internship at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital
in Bombay before coming to the United States. Dr. Shah completed a General
Surgery internship at the State University of New York in Stonybrook,
New York prior to continuing his studies in Des Moines.
Dr. Shah
and his wife live in the Des Moines area with their two children.

Christopher White, M.D.
Iowa has become home for this Baltimore, Maryland native. A graduate of
Loyola Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University, Dr. White completed
his family practice residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
He then went into private practice in Norwalk, Iowa and later joined the
Mercy Medical Center Des Moines clinic system.
Dr. White also shares his medical expertise as flight surgeon for the
Iowa Army National Guard, is medical director for the Norwalk Volunteer
Fire Department Medics and is medical examiner for Warren County.
He and his wife have three daughters.

Chandramohan P. "C.P."
Batra, M.D.
Dr. Batra joined the Mercy
Family Medicine Residency
faculty after serving as the associate
director and director of Women and children's services in the East
Kentucky Family Practice residency. Dr. Batra completed a pediatrics
residency at SUNY-Brooklyn (King County Hospital) in New York.
A native of India, Dr. Batra was an assistant professor (OB/GYN), at the
MS University of Baroda, in Gujarat, India, and the director of the
Primary Health Care Center (USAID Project) in Vagra, Bharuch, Gujarat,
India. He completed his OB/GYN residency at SSG Hospital, MSU of Baroda,
in Gujarat, India.
Dr. Batra brings to the Mercy
Family Medicine Residency
program a wealth of
experience and research in obstetrics and gynecology as well as family
medicine. His primary interests include women's health issues.
Dr. Batra and his wife live in the Des Moines area with their two
children.

Tracy Sanburg, Administrative Director
Tracy has been with the program since July of 1997. She is originally from
Northeast Missouri but now calls Iowa her home. She graduated from the
University of Iowa with a degree in Human Resources. She is a member of the
American Academy of Family Practice Administrators and the Medical Group
Management Association.
She lives in the Des Moines area with her family.

Denise Nichols, PharmD
Denise is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She brings a wide range of
pharmacy experience having worked as a retail, homecare, hospital, and
mental health pharmacist. She graduated from Drake University College of
Pharmacy and Health Sciences and continues to be active with the pharmacy
program serving as a preceptor in Drake's Experiential Program and Adjunct
Assistant Professor. Denise also is adjunct faculty at the Mercy College of
Health Sciences.
Denise and her husband Cortez live in Des Moines and have
three children.

Connie Mitchell, LBSW
Connie has always lived in the Des Moines area. A graduate of Wartburg
College in Waverly, Iowa, she majored in Social Work and Psychology. Connie
has a long history working in the medical field both in the hospital setting
and in Public/Community Health. She is active in the community and
participates in several committees specifically within the Maternal/Child
Health and Mental Heath Services areas. Connie has also participated in
research and grant writing in the Maternal/Child Health and Chemical
Dependency areas.
She lives in Des Moines with her three children.
